This module consists of three lessons where you will improve Table Manners and the Art of the Table. Knowing how to navigate a dining setting will build confidence and prepare you for social and professional engagements.
Lesson 1: Table Manners (1.5 hrs.)
Learn How to Navigate a Formal Table Setting and Identify Items and Use at the Table; Proper Use of Utensils; How to Hold and Identify Glassware; Proper Use of the Napkin; Bread and Butter Plate; How to Pass Items at the Table; Handling Unwanted Food; How to Eat Difficult Foods; Where to Seat and Greeting of Guest; Body Language at the Table; Different Dining Styles (American and Continental) and Resting and Close-Out Positions for each.
Lesson 2: Art of the Table (1.5 hrs.)
Participants will learn How to Set a Formal Table; Styles of Service (American, English, French, Russian); Types of Parties and Service (Formal Dinner, Buffet, Cocktail, Luncheon, Breakfast, Brunch, Picnic and Barbecues, Housewarmings); Host and Guest Roles.
Lesson 3: Formal Luncheon / Dinner * (2 hrs.)
After completing the module, participants and instructor will enjoy a meal at a local Restaurant where they will apply and fine tune their newly acquired skills.
*Tuition does not cover the cost of food and service at Restaurant.
